IP analysis is used for two main applications: <strong>competitor analysis<\/strong> (<strong>\u201cbenchmarking\u201d<\/strong>) and <strong>patent landscaping<\/strong> (also known as <strong>\u201cwhite spot analysis\u201d<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>In addition to quantitative evaluation using statistical methods, there is also a need for a qualitative comparison of patent portfolios.
