Monetary Evaluation of Patents
Do you wish to know the value of your patents better?
In contrast to evaluation, where a qualitative assessment is made, determining the patent value or monetary patent evaluation is a quantitative assessment, with a numerical value at the end.
It is less about the question of what probability a patent or a patent portfolio will have from a legal perspective. Instead, taking into account, in particular, technical and economic factors, a numerical value is to be determined which, at a reference date, reflects the economic value of a patent application, a patent or an extensive portfolio.
An occasion for the assessment of a single IP or an entire patent portfolio may be, for example, the forthcoming sale or transfer of IPRs. Especially with young technology companies, patent evaluation is recommended as part of the company evaluation in the run-up to rounds of financing.
Depending on the reason for the evaluation, we select the appropriate evaluation procedure and collect the data for the evaluation in close cooperation with our clients. As a result, the customer receives a report in which the procedure and the calculation parameters are explained in detail in addition to the patent value.
